Lawrence Tynes is probably going to leave the prediction-making market to actuaries, psychics and handicappers for the near future. Tynes earned a rebuke from Tom Coughlin after stating he’d be kicking for the Giants this weekend and it now seems he’ll be doing nothing but watching as the team faces the 49ers. John Czarnecki of FOXsports.com reports that John Carney will handle the kicking chores this afternoon. He’s 12-of-12 on field goals this season, perfect on extra points and isn’t prone to going over his coach’s head by preemptively making changes to the lineup. It would seem that, no matter how fit Tynes may be, it will take a downturn in Carney’s play for the Giants to make a change at the kicker spot.
