It’s now officially official. Tackle Andre Smith has terminated agent Alvin Keels, and Keels has been made aware of the move. We’re told that Keels is hoping that Smith will reconsider. That’s the primary reason for the five-day waiting period; the player needs to have a chance to be sure that he wants to hire a new agent before signing papers with another representative. Meanwhile, as reported by the Birmingham News on Monday, Ian Greengross is the favorite to replace Keels. As we hear it, Smith’s mother is pushing for Greengross. Then again, Smith’s mother -- and, more specifically, her cooking -- might be far more responsible for her son’s current situation than anything Keels ever did.
