The Panthers are confident that second-year wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin is going to be healthy and ready for training camp — now.

But Benjamin brushed aside questions Friday about whether his hamstring problems that kept him off the field during OTAs and minicamp were related to his weight.

“No, no,” Benjamin said when asked about his weight, via Bill Voth of Black and Blue Review. “It happens. Everybody gets hurt, right?

Of course, Panthers coach Ron Rivera was the first one to mention the fact Benjamin’s absence might have been weight-related, a suggestion Panthers General Manager Dave Gettleman worked quickly to shoot down.

But Benjamin said he’s “looking to go full” when camp opens, and that he was “feeling good.”

So unless or until he shows up at training camp and looks like a guy with conditioning issues, this one seems to be taken care of.
