The Eagles last had linebacker Kiko Alonso in the lineup for their Week Two loss to the Cowboys and it looks like they’ll have him back for Sunday’s rematch with Dallas.
Alonso injured his left knee in that game and there was some initial fear that he’d injured the ACL he had repaired after tearing it in 2014. Those fears went away after an examination by Dr. James Andrews, leaving Alonso to rehab for the last six weeks.
On Tuesday, Alonso said that the rehab has come to an end and that he will be in the lineup as the Eagles try to get to .500.
“Obviously I’ve missed some time and it’s never fun to miss time and watch your teammates go out there,” Alonso said, via the team. “I’m very anxious to get back out there. Our guys have really stepped up and done a good job. Jordan Hicks has done a great job. But, yeah I want to get in there and help the team.”
It remains to be seen how the team will divvy up playing time for Alonso, Hicks, Mychal Kendricks and DeMeco Ryans, but there are certainly worse problems to have than a deep group of players at the position.
