In the latest edition of Monday Morning Quarterback, Peter King of Sports Illustrated said that he’s hearing the Lions really like former Clemson defensive end Da’Quan Bowers -- and that Detroit could take him at No. 13.
It would represent a stunning fall for Bowers; King mentioned during a visit to Monday’s ProFootballTalk Live that, during the 2010 season, execs from five teams with which King spoke viewed Bowers as the possible first overall pick.
Bowers’ knee injury has caused him to fall. Complicating matters is the possibility that he’ll need microfracture surgery.
