Lions suspend C.J. Mosley, send him home from London

A day before the Lions play the Falcons in London, one player is being sent home.

The Lions have announced that defensive tackle C.J. Mosley has been suspended for two weeks for conduct detrimental to the team and a violation of the team rules. The team did not say which rule Mosley violated. Mosley is on the way home and will not attend Sunday’s game at Wembley Stadium.

Mosley is a backup who has played in every game this year and recorded 2.5 sacks. Without him, starters Nick Fairley and Ndamukong Suh will likely get more snaps than usual.

To take Mosley’s spot on the active roster, safety Jerome Couplin has been signed from the Lions’ practice squad.
