NFL agent Gary Wichard dies at 60

Gary Wichard, a longtime NFL player agent, has died at the age of 60.

According to a statement released on behalf of Wichard’s family, the cause was complications brought on by diabetes and pancreatic cancer.

Gary was a family man first and foremost,” Wichard’s wife, Maire, said in the statement. “He also considered his clients to be like family as well.”

Wichard’s clients included Jason Taylor, Dwight Freeney, Antonio Cromartie and Terrell Suggs.

The NFL Players Association suspended Wichard in December for improper contact with North Carolina defensive tackle Marvin Austin, who was suspended by the NCAA for the 2010 season.
