The NFL has been around a long time. Never before has it had so many undefeated teams this deep into the season.
According to the NFL, this is the first time the league has had three 8-0 teams. Ever.
The undefeated teams are the Bengals, Patriots, and Panthers.
During the Super Bowl era, all 21 teams that went 8-0 made it to the playoffs. Twelve of them made it to the Super Bowl. Eight have won the Super Bowl.
Of the remaining 8-0 teams, none play each other during the regular season. So, in theory, there could be three 16-0 teams. Which is highly unlikely, but still fun to think about.
