On further review, Dennis Dixon will miss six weeks

As the week has gone on, the news for Steelers quarterback Dennis Dixon has gotten no better.

Initially believed to be out as few as three weeks, Dixon now will miss six weeks, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Dixon suffered a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee against the Titans on Sunday. He has surgery on Wednesday.

Don’t be shocked if the Steelers eventually put Dixon on injured reserve. Once Ben Roethlisberger is reinstated, the Steelers will have to decide whether to carry four quarterbacks on the active roster.
