Paul Richardson returns to practice, looks “lightning fast”

As the Seahawks prepare to emerge from their mini-bye with a trip to Dallas, they’ll possibly be getting another weapon for their passing game.

Receiver Paul Richardson returned to practice on Monday after tearing the ACL in his left knee, and he looked pretty good to coach Pete Carroll.

“First time out, he looked lightning fast,” Carroll told reporters on Monday. “He’s got the fresh legs and he’s already really fast, so he looked good getting started today.”

Richardson’s return to practice opens a three-week window to place him on the active roster. That could come in time for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys.

“I don’t think it’s unrealistic,” Carroll said. “I think that because of the workouts they’ve taken him through, there’s a chance of that. We’ll just see what that means, I don’t know and I’m not going to hold out hope for it. We’ll just go one day at a time and see what happens.”

A second-round pick in 2014, Richardson caught 29 passes for 271 yards and a touchdown as a rookie. His speed, when coupled with fast-footed 2015 rookie Tyler Lockett and the matchup problems created by tight end Jimmy Graham, could open up the offense.

If quarterback Russell Wilson has enough time to throw the ball.
