As the Colts continue to sink like a big rock in a deep well, the team is looking for ways to keep the fan base interested.
On Sunday, after Indy fell to 0-10 for the first time since the year they earned the top pick that became Peyton Manning, Colts Vice Chairman Bill Polian said that Manning will be back in 2012, and that Manning will be healthy.
That’s the word, via StampedeBlue.com. And even though the item characterizes Polian as saying that he “expects” Manning back next year, Brad Wells of StampedeBlue.com tells us that Polian was unequivocal.
If true, it means that the Colts will be paying Manning the $28 million he’s due to earn in early March.
That said, I’m not ready to believe what Bill Polian is selling. For Manning to be healthy, nerves need to regenerate. And nerves operate on their own timetable.
