RAMS COULD PICK A NEW COACH TODAY

It took nearly two weeks for the first two head-coaching jobs to be filled. It could be that two more will have been filled in two days. On Thursday, it was the Lions, who hired Jim Schwartz. On Friday, the Rams could make a hire as well, according to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports. The identity of the person to be hired continues to be unclear. Cole reports that it will be Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier or Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that there are four finalists -- Frazier, Spagnuolo, Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, and Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan. On Thursday, coach Jim Haslett and the rest of the incumbent coaching staff was told that they would not be back with the team in 2009.
