Rams jump out to early lead over Broncos

tremason

Something unexpected is happening in St. Louis: The offense run by Shaun Hill is moving the ball more effectively than the offense run by Peyton Manning.

Hill, who took back the Rams’ starting quarterback job this week, found Kenny Britt open deep downfield in the first quarter for a 63-yard touchdown that gave the Rams a 10-0 lead over the Broncos. Before that, Hill had engineered an 11-play, 61-yard drive that culminated in a 37-yard field goal.

The Broncos’ offense has moved the ball, but their first drive ended with a punt and their second drive ended with a failed fourth-down attempt.

Denver still has 45 minutes to come back, but it’s a surprise that the Broncos need to come back at all.
