Wide receiver Mike Williams wore red socks for the Bills’ game against the Chargers last week.

We’re not sure how much it cost him to purchase the socks, but it’s a safe bet that the price tag was nowhere near what wearing them cost Williams. PFT has confirmed with the NFL that Williams has been fined $11,025 for violating the league’s uniform rules.

Mike Rodak of ESPN.com reports that Williams does “a big show” in the locker room before games about how he dresses in order to keep the team loose. The Bills lost on Sunday, so the fine is probably more painful than if his show had helped spur the team on to a third straight victory.

“I try to put all the attention on me. Because everything I’ve been through, I know I can handle it,” Williams said. “I even do a big show before the game, let everybody know what I’m dressing on. Make fun in the locker room, just put all the attention on me so everybody else can go out and play. If we win, it’s all worth it. When you lose, that’s when you’re like, ‘Should I do it?’ But the money goes to somewhere good.”

It’s the second time Williams has been fined this season. Linebacker Brandon Spikes was also fined for a second time, drawing a $8,268 penalty for head butting Chargers center Rich Ohrnberger.
