While Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins is indeed hoping to get a chance to be a starter, he has not asked the club to be dealt, Tarik El-Bashir of CSNWashington.com reported on Sunday evening.

Earlier on Sunday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Cousins was willing to be traded.

Cousins, 25, is entering his third NFL season. He is under contract for affordable base salaries in the next two seasons, and he’s proven capable of being a solid fill-in for Robert Griffin III. However, new Redskins coach Jay Gruden has installed Griffin as the starter, which potentially leaves Cousins’ short-term career in something of a holding pattern.
