Mark Sanchez was deemed “80%" likely to start by Jets coach Rex Ryan on Thursday. Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News says it’s closer to 100% after Friday’s practice.

Mehta reports Sanchez will get the call Sunday in Chicago against the Bears. Mark Brunell was the other option.

There was a theory in New York that the Jets floated Sanchez’s uncertainty out there to distract from stories about Ryan this week. That seems like a stretch, but the end result is that Sanchez should be fine.

While the Jets are in the playoffs with a win, the game is arguably bigger for the NFC North champion Bears. They need to keep winning to stay in front the Eagles in the race for a playoff bye. The Jets look locked in to a wild card spot regardless of what they do.
