Boise State wide receiver Titus Young arrived at January’s Senior Bowl hyped as the next DeSean Jackson by draft analysts like Mike Mayock of NFL Network.
An underwhelming offseason appears to have slowed Young’s momentum.
According to SI.com draft analyst Tony Pauline, Young is regarded as no better than a third-round pick “on most teams’ draft boards.”
Young was plagued by drops in Mobile, and NFL decision makers are believed to be displeased with Young’s Combine measurables. The 5-foot-11, 174-pound wideout ran a slower-than-expected 4.53 forty in Indianapolis, and opted out of the vertical jump and all shuttle drills.

- North Carolina wide receiver Greg Little is viewed as a fourth-round pick at best. Little missed all of the 2010 season due to NCAA suspension, and reportedly came off as “less than honest” in Combine interviews.
- Hawaii wide receiver Greg Salas is rising. A slot receiver prospect, Salas could reportedly be drafted as early as the second round.
- LSU’s Terrence Toliver and TCU’s Jeremy Kerley are also hot names in NFL circles. Pauline calls them “potential second-rounders,” and points to an outstanding Pro Day performance by Toliver, who was drop prone in college.
- USC offensive tackle Tyron Smith ranks high on the draft boards of Minnesota and Dallas. Pauline believes Smith is a serious candidate to go No. 12 overall to the Vikings.
