The 49ers have reportedly created some salary cap space by cutting Craig Dahl’s base salary by $525,000.

According to NinersNation.com, Dahl’s 2014 salary has been reduced from $1.35 million to $825,000.

Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com reports Dahl’s salary cap number has been lowered from $1.883 million to $1.283 million. Dahl has been guaranteed $365,000 in salary, and he can make back $175,000 in game-to-game roster bonuses, Maiocco reported.

The 28-year-old Dahl notched 13 tackles in a reserve role for San Francisco in 2013. He appeared in all 16 regular season games. He has made 42 regular season career starts since entering the NFL in 2007 with the Giants.
