Shaun Ellis “should be fine” despite knee sprain

Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis injured a knee while sacking Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in the second half of Sunday’s game. (It initially appeared that he’d taken a helmet in the, um, helmet.)

Coach Rex Ryan said after the game that Ellis has “a little bit of a sprained [left] knee,” according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. Per Mehta, Ellis was walking with a “slight limp” when leaving the locker room.

It’s unknown whether Ellis will miss next Monday night’s game against the Vikings.

We’re told that Ellis “should be fine.” Then again, the initial assessment as to the Darrelle Revis hamstring injury was optimistic, too.
