A heart ailment prematurely ended the first year in Tampa Bay of offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford, which in turn derailed both the Buccaneers’ offense and, to a large extent, the entire team.
Tedford, hand picked by coach Lovie Smith who spent his year out of football in 2013 planning for his first year back in the NFL, recently was released from his contract. But that doesn’t mean Tedford will stop working.
According to Arash Madani of Sportsnet.ca, the B.C. Lions are leaning toward hiring Tedford to be the team’s next head coach.
Tedford worked for the Calgary Stampeders from 1989 through 1991, and he played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, the Stampeders, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He coached at Cal from 2002 through 2012.
