Titans generate $22,500 in fines

The Week Four game between the Tennessee Titans and the Jacksonville Jaguars produced a surprising outcome on the field, with the Jags thumping the Titans by 20 points, 37-17.

The game also resulted in more than 20 grand in fines for the team that lost the game.

Per Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean, Titans defensive tackle Tony Brown was fined $10,000 for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Jags quarterback David Garrard. Brown wasn’t flagged during the game, and he has claimed that replays show he didn’t hit Garrard in the head.

Also, Titans defensive tackle Jovan Haye was fined $5,000 for a face mask foul, and Titans safety Donnie Nickey has been fined $7,500 for a horse collar tackle.
