The Titans held starting running back Demarco Murray out of practice Wednesday due to a toe injury.

Murray got an MRI after initially suffering the injury two weeks ago in a Thursday night win over the Jaguars. Murray returned to the game after suffering the injury and played again last week, but it seems like Murray sitting out Wednesday’s practice could be more than just maintenance.

Titans Coach Mike Mularkey told reporters that Murray will be evaluated before the team decides if he can practice Thursday.

With No. 2 running back Derrick Henry dealing with a calf strain, the Titans added David Fluellen to the active roster earlier this week. Antonio Andrews was the backup to Murray last week with Henry out.

Murray is second in the NFL with 807 rushing yards and tied for fifth with seven rushing touchdowns.

Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota injured his ankle in last week’s game but was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice and wasn’t listed on the injury report.
