Patriots quarterback Tom Brady says he’s getting ready for his toughest test of the season.
After beating the Broncos on Saturday and then watching the Ravens beat the Texans on Sunday, Brady said this morning on WEEI that he doesn’t think the Patriots have played anyone as good as the Ravens.
“The Ravens, they’re the best team we’ve played all year,” Brady said. “They present a ton of challegnes in all three phases of the game. When you watch them, like you watched them yesterday, they’re physical, they’re tough, they can cover, they have some of the best players in the history of the NFL at their possitions like [Terrell] Suggs, Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Haloti Ngata.”
The Patriots are the favorites, but there’s no question that they’re going to have to play better against the Ravens than they have against good teams so far this season. New England reached the AFC Championship Game without ever beating a winning team: Against teams that finished the season above .500, the Patriots went 0-2, losing to both the Steelers and the Giants.
If the Ravens are the best team the Patriots have played, and so far the Patriots are 0-2 against the two best teams they’ve played, Sunday’s AFC Championship Game is going to be a tough battle for New England.
