The Cardinals have won without safety Tyrann Mathieu the last two weeks, but Mathieu says they won’t have to make it three in a row when they face the Seahawks on Sunday night.

Mathieu practiced with the Cardinals on Monday as they went through the motions upon their return to work after last Thursday’s victory over the Rams. Mathieu is wearing a cast to protect his surgically repaired left thumb and says that he’ll be wearing it on the field this weekend as well.

“I wasn’t going to miss this one. I didn’t want to miss the last two, but we’re really excited about this weekend,” Mathieu said, via ESPN.com. “I think I’m healed up enough to finish out the season. So hopefully I don’t have any more setbacks.”

The Cardinals defense has done well the last two weeks, forcing four turnovers and producing a steady pass rush as the team remained ahead of Seattle in the NFC West. They’ll need more of the same this time out if they’re going to put the finishing touches on a division title and it looks like Mathieu is going to try to help them get it.
