The Vikings waived Brad Sorensen early this week when they cut their roster to 75 players, but brought him back ahead of Thursday’s preseason finale after Teddy Bridgewater was placed on injured reserve due to the knee injury he suffered in Tuesday’s practice.

Sorensen’s stay on the roster was not a long one. According to multiple reports, Sorensen is among the players the Vikings are letting go this weekend.

The move leaves the Vikings with just one quarterback without health concerns. Shaun Hill didn’t play against the Rams on Thursday, leaving rookie Joel Stave to start but Stave had to leave the game early with a hand injury. Sorensen went 4-of-9 for 53 yards and a touchdown in relief.

Taylor Heinicke, who was the third-string quarterback last season, is on the non-football injury list after hurting his foot while trying to kick in a door. Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press reports that Heinicke may be able to practice in two weeks, which could impact the Vikings’ decision about whether to keep him on the NFI list into the regular season as he would be ineligible to return for six weeks if he’s on it.

Even if he is on the 53-man roster, it seems a good bet that the Vikings will be adding someone to go with Hill ahead of the regular season opener.
