NBC Sports Group has announced that Kevin Martin, the skip for Team Canada’s gold medal-winning curling team in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, has joined NBC’s coverage for Sochi.

Martin also earned a silver in the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics and holds the men’s Olympic curling victory record with 20 total wins.

His gold medal squad from Vancouver was the first team to go undefeated in round-robin play since the 1924 British team at the first Olympic Winter Games in Chamonix.

“After such a distinguished career, Kevin will provide our viewers with an insightful look at this increasingly popular Winter Games sport,” NBC Olympics executive producer Jim Bell said in a statement.

Additionally, Martin is a past gold medalist in the World Curling Championships (2008) and a four-time winner in the Brier (1991, 1997, 2008, 2009), which is the Canadian men’s curling championship.
