Dorothy Hamill remembers Olympic figure skating title on TODAY (video)

Dorothy Hamill

Dorothy Hamill, the 1976 Olympic figure skating champion, visited TODAY and reminisced about her gold medal at age 19 on Wednesday.

“It was such a different time,” she said. “I knew nothing other than skating, and then all of a sudden living in a fish bowl and Ice Capades. I had never given a press conference. It’s just a whole different world. I can’t believe it. It was like another lifetime.”

Hamill said she keeps her gold medal in a safe in her house.
