The 21-year-old Great Britain swimmer broke the world record in the 100m breaststroke, blazing a 57.55 en route to the honors.
Peaty set the standard last year, swimming a 57.92 in April 2015 in London. The new mark is almost a full second better than the one he broke: Cameron van der Burgh of South Africa’s 58.46 from London 2012
