Backcountry Snowboarding Takes Center Stage at Baldface Lodge in Nelson, British Columbia
New York – March 29, 2013 – Red Bull Ultra Natural, a backcountry snowboarding competition, features event creator Travis Rice and 15 of the world’s top riders as they drop into a steep, untouched mountain with more than 80 features designed to showcase the athletes’ big-mountain skills and technical prowess. Ultra Natural, part of the Red Bull Signature Series, airs from Baldface Lodge just outside of Nelson, B.C., Canada, this Saturday at 1:30 p.m. ET. on NBC.
Redefining what is possible in competition, viewers will get to see 16 snowboarders converge on the run known as “Scary Cherry” at Baldface Lodge, fighting variable weather conditions and a variety of both natural and man-made features on the mile long course. International stars such as Austria’s Gigi Rüf and Switzerland’s Nicolas Müller join U.S. riders including Travis Rice and Bryan Fox.
