Barnsley and Fleetwood Town took “snoozer” to a whole new level this weekend.

In this case, it’s not the when but the where (you can make a fairly-educated guess about the why). A fan fell asleep at halftime of Barnsley’s 1-0 home loss, and he caught those Z’s on the toilet.

Somehow, in a stadium of cheering and yelling fans, he slept for seven hours and found himself locked in Oakwell.

Without his phone, he climbed atop a portable building and hoped to catch someone’s attention. Fortunately, his stadium search to find someone to let him out set off a security alarm, and local firefighters hit the scene.

“We had to get the ladder to get him down. He had no shoes on and had lost his mobile phone and his hat.

“He was more bothered about his hat though, he seemed a smartly dressed lad.”
