Giuseppe Rossi’s career has been marked by injury problems, and that rocky path has re-surfaced, with the Italian-American faced with yet another knee operation taking place in the United States under Dr. Richard Steadman.
Fiorentina website released a statement: “Fiorentina announces that Giuseppe Rossi was today submitted for surgery on his right knee in Colorado. Examinations showed a good stability to the cruciate ligament previously operated on. Resumption of activity will be dictated by the specialist, which is estimated at around four to five months.’'
Rossi has had four knee surgeries, his worst injury, a torn anterior cruciate ligament, happening in the 2011 season when Villareal battled Real Madrid. That just this past season, a sprain kept him out of game action for four months, as well as keeping him off Italy’s world Cup squad. He was a apart of the original 30-man roster, but Cesar Prandelli was unsure of his fitness levels stemming from the rehabilitation of his ailment.
