It is, of course, possible that Dortmund overcomes a three-goal deficit to beat Real Madrid in their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal second leg on Tuesday. Stranger things have happened than a strong offensive team scoring a bunch of goals.

But there’s no question it will not only take the return of Robert Lewandowski but also a pure performance that’s as perfect as it is potent.

Real counters without Cristiano Ronaldo but with plenty of experience and Gareth Bale, who’s fresh off a long-range hammer goal.
