The pots for the 2016 Copa America Centenario this summer have been announced and the U.S. national team are among the seeded nations.

Jurgen Klinsmann’s squad are in Pot 1 alongside powerhouses Brazil and Argentina, plus CONCACAF foes Mexico are also a top seed for the 16 team tournament which will be played across the United States of America this summer from June 3-26.

With 10 teams from CONMEBOL and six from the CONCACAF region, the tournament will pit the best of South, Central and North America against one another to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the Copa America. Stars such as Lionel Messi, James Rodriguez and Neymar will be on show this summer as big crowds are expected across the USA.

Now that the seedings have been sorted out, the pots will be drawn on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET in New York City, with the four groups of four teams decided.
Below are the pots in full, with the best draw for the U.S. surely being Ecuador, Haiti and Venezuela, while the “Group of Death” scenario for Klinsmann’s boys would be Chile, Costa Rica and Paraguay.
Pot 1 (Seeded Nations): United States, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina
Pot 2 (CONMEBOL – higher ranked nations): Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Uruguay
Pot 3 (CONCACAF – qualified nations): Costa Rica, Haiti, Jamaica, Panama
Pot 4 (CONMEBOL – remaining nations): Bolivia, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela
