What they’re saying
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers on his philosophy: “You need specialists and players who are brilliant in a position, for sure, but I like to have a small squad of players that are multi-functional, can understand the game tactically and allow me the flexibility to change systems freely in a game or at the beginning of a game.”
Jan Vertonghen on Spurs’ schedule: “It’s going to be a tough month – we did well to start it with a win. Liverpool will be a difficult game, they are a strong team who try to play from the back. We’ll have to try to play the same way as we did against Arsenal to take three points from Anfield.”
