Queretaro is onto the semifinals of the CONCACAF Champions League after a 1-1 road draw gave them a 3-1 aggregate win over DC United in the quarters.
Angel Sepulveda scored for the Liga MX side, while Tiago Volpi saved a penalty as Liga MX took the first of four CCL ties against MLS sides.
First round draft pick Julian Buescher scored a wonderful goal from distance for DC United, but it was too little, too late in the 84th minute.

The visitors got a near-perfect start when Sean Franklin and Steve Birnbaum were crossed up in their six-yard box marking. Sepulveda buried his chance low and to the right of Andrew Dykstra, and DC would need four unanswered goals to pull out a win.
After the early goal, Queretaro played a decidedly more defensive game (although it’s hard to say if that would’ve been their plan anyway). There were a few good pushes for a second goal, but mostly there was a lot of disciplined clogging of the middle, and DC obliged by moving the ball around the perimeter at times.
Patrick Nyarko won a penalty kick early in the second half, and it looked like DC may have the thinnest of life lines.
