Report: Joe Hart future uncertain at Man City

It was certainly a shock to not see Joe Hart’s name on the starting team sheet for Manchester City on Saturday when the team opened its new Premier League account.

But now, the goalkeeper’s starting position is no longer the only concern at the club.

With new manager Pep Guardiola selecting Willy Caballero over Hart in the team’s 2-1 win against Sunderland, the Citizens appear to be moving in a different direction from the Englishman.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the club could be offloading Hart as soon as this transfer window, which still has about two weeks remaining before deadline day, while both Sevilla and Everton are being heavily linked as potential destinations for PL veteran.

Meanwhile, the Daily Telegraph has also tabbed Barcelona’s Claudio Bravo as a favorite for Manchester City to sign to replace Hart.

“I’m pretty sure he’s not happy,” Guardiola said following City’s win vs. Sunderland. “All the players who didn’t play, they’re sad, they’re upset, of course. I would not like them to be happy if they didn’t play. We have 28 players so there are a lot that have to convince me on the pitch, it’s the only way. It’s not a personal problem with any player.

Hart, 29, joined Manchester City in 2006 from Shrewsbury Town and has since accumulated well over 200 appearances for the Citizens in his time at the Etihad Stadium.

With Guardiola apparently seeking a more sound sweeper keeper in goal, Hart’s recent struggles for both the club and the English national team haven’t helped his case.
