Revisiting PST’s preseason Premier League predictions: Oh, so, wrong

Leicester City v Chelsea - Premier League

Chelsea was our unanimous champion and three of our five staff writers pegged Leicester to be relegated.

So begins the foolish errand that was the ProSoccerTalk 2015-16 Premier League predictions.

Sadly, it gets a bit worse from there. Consider:

-- No writer named more than two correct Top Four finishers, while two named just one correctly.

-- Four of the five writers picked Norwich to be relegated, but no one had Newcastle or Aston Villa going down.

-- Only Kyle Bonn had West Ham finishing in the top half.

-- Only Bonn had Spurs finishing higher than sixth. Don’t take too hard a bow, Kyle. You had them fifth.

-- Our Top Five forwards list was missing Jamie Vardy, but I think we can be forgiven for that. Otherwise, a respectable showing.

-- And no one has Wes Morgan in our Top Five defenders, nor Riyad Mahrez/N’Golo Kante in our midfield (which was specifically rough. Thanks Eden Hazard).

Then again, this was the most unpredictable Premier League season in ages. Better luck next time?
