Landon Donovan discusses Team USA's near must-win match against Guatemala and explains why coach Jurgen Klinsmann should be fired if the U.S. loses.

USMNT legend Landon Donovan isn’t beating about the bush.

Sure, he has history with Jurgen Klinsmann after being left off the final roster for the 2014 World Cup but he’s only saying what most fans of the U.S. national team are thinking.

Speaking to the Dan Patrick Show on Tuesday ahead of the USA’s crunch World Cup qualifier against Guatemala, Donovan said that Klinsmann should be fired if the U.S. loses in Columbus.

That’s a view many of you agreed with, as Klinsmann’s team need a big response following their 2-0 defeat to Guatemala -- their first against Los Chapines in 21 years -- last Friday in Guatemala City.

Hit play on the video above to hear what the USA’s all-time leading goal scorer had to say to DP.

If the U.S. does lose against Guatemala they will need to win both of their final fourth round qualifying games in September, and hope other results go their way, just to make the final round of CONCACAF qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The Stakes are high. The pressure is on.
