West Ham United midfielder Ravel Morrison has enjoyed a bright start to the Premier League season, scoring three goals and notching 1 assist in 10 contests.

The 20-year-old’s performances have gone a long way to convincing many that the former Manchester United academy player had finally matured. Noted to possess incredible talent, Morrison’s immaturity hampered his footballing progress at Old Trafford, prompting Sir Alex Ferguson to sell the player to West Ham in January 2012.

Upon executing the deal Ferguson told told Hammers boss Sam Allardyce that Morrison was, “A brilliant footballer. Brilliant ability. Top-class ability. Needs to get away from Manchester and start a new life.”

From all indications, Morrison has done just this and for his good work he remains a key figure in the England. He spent the past weekend with the England U-21s, where he scored a memorable volley in training on Sunday. Off the Jesse Lingard cross, Morrison leaps into the air and crosses his left foot over his right before smashing the ball home with the back of his heel.

Talent, no doubt.

But is it enough to convince Roy Hodgson to take him to Brazil?
