LaMelo Ball O/U 26.5 Points + Assists vs. Grizzlies

LaMelo Ball has been tearing it up the past six games and I don’t think the second-year star will slow down anytime soon.

The Hornets and Grizzlies meet for a matchup with an O/U set at 229.5. It might not be enough points as both teams rank at the bottom of the NBA in numerous defensive categories.

The Grizzlies allow the second-most assists (10.31) and the fourth-most made three-pointers (3.50) to opposing point guards per game.

Not to mention, Memphis allows the second-most points per game (113.8), the fourth-most fast break points (15.4) and rank bottom three in opponent assists per game (28.0), field goal percentage (48%) and three-point percentage (38.6%) -- great numbers for Ball.

This season, LaMelo scores a combined 55.6% of his points from three and on the fast-break, plus 37.6% in the paint, per NBA.com.

Memphis permits the sixth-most points in the paint per game (49.0), which could be Ball’s calling card if the trey-ball is not falling.

However, Ball has hit three or more triples in four of his last six games and 28-of-29 from the free-throw line on the year (96.6%). If he’s aggressive, 20 points is 100 percent in LaMelo’s realm.

Over the last six games, Ball averages 24.0 points and 8.0 assists per game for a 32.0 average, crushing this 26.5 prop number.

He only has two career games versus Memphis and he averaged 16.0 points and 5.5 assists on 27 and 28 minutes of action. Ball will see the floor more than that tonight versus a lackluster defensive squad and I expect his best showing versus Memphis to come tonight.

NBC’s player prop model shows Ball is 6-2 to the Over 19.5 points at 30-plus minutes (75%) and 4-4 to the Over 7.5 assists this season at that minute total (50%).

He triple-doubled in his last outing versus the Lakers and hit Over 26.5 Points + Assists in four out of his last six games. The Grizzlies provide another Over opportunity for LaMelo.

Pick: LaMelo Ball Over 26.5 Points + Assists (1u)
