Arizona freshman Sidiki Johnson will transfer

Turns out Arizona wasn’t the place for Sidiki Johnson.

The freshman was at odds with coach Sean Miller and suspended on Nov. 21. Barely two weeks later, the school announced Johnson will transfer.

The 6-8 forward had played in three games, but just seven minutes total. The Tucson Citizen reported that Miller was optimistic Johnson would return to the team from his suspension, but that didn’t work out.

Johnson was one of four highly touted players from Arizona’s 2011 recruiting class, which also includes Nick Johnson, Josiah Turner and Angelo Chol. Johnson’s departure will hurt the Wildcats’ short, thin frontcourt.

The Bronx native has not announced a transfer school yet.
