Kansas State secures head coach Bruce Weber through 2019
Kansas State head coach Bruce Weber has received an extension to coach the Wildcats through 2019, the school announced on Wednesday.
“Our men’s basketball program continues to make terrific progress under Coach Weber and his staff since their arrival,” said Athletics Director John Currie. “He and Megan, along with the entire staff, have really embraced being a part of the K-State family and Manhattan community. I am excited about the future of our program and forward trajectory under his leadership.”
Weber will make $1.85 million in the 2014-2015 season with a $100,000 raise scheduled for every season through the end of his contract. In 2018-2019, he’ll make $2.25 million.
The Wildcats went 20-13 this past season, reaching the NCAA tournament for the fifth straight season. Their success was built largely on the play of freshman Marcus Foster, who came out of nowhere to have one of the best freshman seasons in the Big 12.
