440 POUND ACTOR WORKING OUT WITH GEORGIA TECH

Usually defensive tackle T.J. Barnes is the biggest man on the field, his hulking 6-foot-7, 340 pound body an imposing figure during spring practice. But that’s before Quinton Aaron started working out with the Yellow Jackets.Aaron, a fairly unknown actor who scored the plum role of Ole Miss left tackle Michael Oher in the upcoming movie “The Blind Side,” is a hulking 6-foot-7, and just three weeks ago, weighed 472 pounds. But as the movie adaptation of the Michael Lewis best-selling novel based on Oher’s life gets ready to go into production, Aaron is working with Georgia Tech strength and conditioning coach Eric Ciano to try and get his body into the kind of shape necessary to play an elite football prospect. And judging by the body shape and half-ton physique of the actor, it’s going to be a job befitting of the TV show The Biggest Loser. He’s already dropped 34 pounds, down to 438, and his goal is to get to 399. If he’s going to play the role of Oher, one of the premiere athlete’s in this year’s NFL draft, he’ll probably need to do more than just cut weight.
