When it came to must-see TV on college football’s opening weekend, Sunday’s game pitting East Carolina against Tulsa was not even a tiny blip on the viewing radar.
After the way that Conference USA tilt ended, and the events leading up to the last possession, it most certainly should’ve been.
In a back-and-forth game that featured touchdowns on the two teams’ final ten possessions, the Pirates saved the best for last and handed Ruffin McNeill his first win as ECU’s head coach in spectacular fashion.
Of course, having a 6-8, 250-pounder as the one of the Hail Mary options is most optimal, but it was still a hell of an end to what was a surprisingly entertaining contest.
