Senior Duke defensive tackle Kinney Rucker is out indefinitely due to an injured right foot, the school announced via a press release this afternoon.
Last month, Rucker underwent surgery to repair a torn plantar plate in the foot.
“At this point, we don’t have a timetable set for Kinney’s return,” Duke head coach David Cutcliffe said in a statement. “We’ll continue to monitor his progress and evaluate the options as his health improves. We’re certainly fortunate that we have the best medical care right here at Duke University.”
The last two seasons, Rucker has played in all 24 games with four starts.
Rucker was slated to be the top reserve at defensive tackle behind returning starter Vince Oghobaa.
