If you enjoy David Shaw‘s work in his “second” job, you will appreciate this not-so-unexpected development.
Monday afternoon, it was confirmed by both the NFL and Stanford that the Cardinal head football coach will, once again, serve as a guest analyst for the NFL Network’s coverage of the upcoming draft. Shaw will be making his fourth consecutive appearance on the network’s draft coverage, the only college coach who can make that claim.
Additionally, he will be the only college coach appearing during the network’s coverage of the first round, which kicks off at eight p.m. ET April 30.

Other college coaches are expected to be added to the network’s roster of analysts, and should be announced in the coming days.
In addition to Shaw, Ohio State’s Urban Meyer and Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher took part in the 2014 event. The year prior to that, it was LSU’s Les Miles and Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly joining Shaw in representing the college version of the sport.
