    Athletics released RHP Scott Barlow.

Barlow hits the free agent pool after failing to attract any interest on waivers. The 33-year-old was removed from the Athletics bullpen mix over the weekend after struggling to a bloated 6.48 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 29/19 K/BB ratio across 33 1/3 innings this season. He should be able to latch on somewhere as organizational depth.

Mets placed RHP Austin Warren on the 15-day injured list with a right forearm strain.

Giants recalled C/OF Jesús Rodriguez from Triple-A Sacramento

This is Rodriguez’s second stint in the big leagues this season after hitting .231/.302/.385 with two homers, seven RBI and one steal in 43 plate appearances over 14 games back in May. He will likely be a part-time player through the All-Star break.

Giants placed OF Jonah Cox on the 10-day injured list with an oblique strain.

Cox was having a really solid season in Triple-A and had hit .269/.269/.500 with one home run and four sterals in 29 plate appearances for the Giants this season. There’s no word yet on the severity of the oblique strain, but it should keep him out a month or more.

Pirates recalled C/1B Rafael Flores Jr. from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Flores Jr. is 2-for-3 with a home run in two games with the Pirates this season. He’s hitting .228/.362/.342 with four home runs and 38 RBI in 65 games at Triple-A this year and is firmly off the fantasy radar.

Pirates placed C/1B Endy Rodríguez on the 10-day injured list with a left glute strain.

Rodríguez just can’t catch a break. The 26-year-old had played in just 18 MLB games in 2024 and 2025 due to injury but had looked good since returning this season, hitting .260/.388/.470 with five home runs and 16 RBI in 35 games. He’ll now head back to the injured list, but, with the All-Star break looming, hopefully won’t miss too much time.

Victor Bericoto is not in the lineup on Wednesday against the Blue Jays

Bericoto has a three-game hitting streak, where he has gone 5-for-12 with three RBI and a steal. He has also hit 14-for-37 (.378) with three home runs, six runs scored, and eight RBI in 10 games since becoming a regular starter with Matt Chapman (abs) on the injured list. It would seem like the Giants could find another hitter to give an off day to, but they will start Drew Gilbert in center field with Bericoto on the bench.

Colton Cowser is starting in center field and batting seventh against the Cubs on Wednesday.

Cowser had sat the previous two games with a left-hander on the mound, but he’ll be in the starting lineup tonight with Blaze Alexander shifting to third base and Coby Mayo heading to the bench. This strict platoon usage makes it easier to roster Cowser in fantasy leagues with daily moves.

Heriberto Hernández is starting in left field and batting sixth against the Mariners on Wednesday.

Hernández hit two home runs on Sunday and then was not in the lineup on Tuesday as the Marlins struggle to deal with their outfield surplus. Hernández has started mainly against lefties, with Griffin Conine and/or Owen Caissie heading to the bench, which makes sense because Hernández has been far better against lefties, with an .870 OPS compared to a .739 mark against righties. On Wednesday, it will be Conine on the bench despite the Marlins facing right-haner George Kirby.

Twins signed free agent RHP Matt Bowman to a minor league contract.

Bowman started this season with the Twins and pitched to a 1.69 ERA and a 25/6 K/BB ratio in 21 1/3 innings. However, he triggered an opt-out clause in his contract and was granted his release. He then signed with the Blue Jays, where he posted a 10.38 ERA in 8 2/3 innings at Triple-A and was released again. Now he’s back with the Twins in his fifth stint with the team.
