It’s a massive relief for Kansas City, and fantasy managers, after Caglianone was scratched from Sunday’s series finale against the White Sox with left groin soreness. It appears to have been a precautionary decision. The 23-year-old rookie slugger has been on a tear at the plate recently, launching a whopping nine round-trippers since the start of June.

The Royals are hopeful that it’s just a minor issue and won’t lead to an extended absence from the lineup. He’s considered day-to-day. Kameron Misner replaced him in Sunday’s lineup and could be in line for additional action if Caglianone has to miss a few games.

No word yet on the reason for the late scratch. Caglianone has been set to start in right field and bat third for the Royals against White Sox’ southpaw Anthony Kay. Kameron Misner will take his place in right field and bat ninth for the Royals.

In one of the worst baseball games a team has ever played, Caglianone’s triple stood tall as one of the Royals’ four hits while the opposing White Sox had 23 hits and 22 runs. Yes, you read that correctly. Nevertheless, Caglianone has had a transcendent June to this point with a .337/.418/.709 slash line plus nine home runs in 23 games. The breakout is fully on.

Jac Caglianone went 3-for-5 with two homers and three RBI on Tuesday, leading the Royals to a lopsided 12-5 win over the Rays.

Caglianone took Rays southpaw Shane McClanahan deep in the first and fifth innings, launching a combined 859 feet of thunder, to record his third multi-homer performance since June 9. The first was an absolute rocket into the right-field seats, which he followed with an impressive opposite-field shot to left-center field a couple frames later. The 23-year-old power-hitting phenom has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball recently, blasting six homers over his last five games.

Jac Caglianone stayed hot on Sunday against the Cardinals, finishing 2-for-3 with two homers, two walks, three RBI, and three runs scored.

Caglianone has been one of the best hitters in baseball this month, hitting .379/.468/.742 in June, and now has four homers in his past three games. He’s also hit third in every game since Vinnie Pasquantino landed on the injured list a little over a week ago. Caglianone’s season-long stats aren’t eye-popping, but he has heated up in a major way lately.

Jac Caglianone went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored in a 6-5 win over the Cardinals on Friday.

Caglianone is heating up. His fourth inning single put his Royals on the board and helped to set up what would become a four-run inning. Then, he homered in his next at-bat on a ball that he hit 110.5 mph that traveled 404 feet. That was his 10th long ball of the season, second in his last two games, and fifth already in June. Over his last 15 games, he has a .306/.374/.514 slash line as it looks like his breakout is finally happening.

Jac Caglianone went 1-for-5 and belted a two-run homer in a lopsided victory over the Cardinals on Thursday evening.

Caglianone did his damage off of Gordon Graceffo in the fourth inning, with his 402-foot (110.0-mph EV) two-run blast increasing the Royals’ lead to 9-3. That would be his only hit in five at-bats on the night. For the season, the 23-year-old slugger is now hitting .266/.338/.439 with nine homers and 22 RBI.

Royals placed 1B Vinnie Pasquantino on 10-day injured list with a fractured right hamate bone.

It was a bad day for hamate bones in the American League Central on Saturday as both Pasquantino and Guardians’ third baseman José Ramírez fractured theirs while swinging the bat. The 28-year-old slugger is expected to miss at least four-to-six weeks. John Rave was recalled from Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move on Sunday. Jac Caglianone is expected to see the bulk of the action at first base while Pasquantino is shelved.

Jac Caglianone went 2-for-4 and scored a run as the Royals fell to the Rangers on Thursday afternoon in Kansas City.

Caglianone singled during the Royals’ rally in the fourth inning and ultimately scored on an RBI knock by Kameron Misner. He also started the sixth inning with a single but was quickly erased on a double play ball. With his two-hit attack, the 23-year-old slugger is now hitting .279/.351/.457 on the season with eight homers, 19 RBI and three stolen bases on the season.

Jac Caglianone went 4-for-5 with a double, one RBI, and two runs scored on Wednesday against the Rangers.

This was a great back and forth game with Caglianone in the middle of a good chunk of the action. That’s easy to say when a player has four hits, but Caglianone doubled and then scored the first run, drove home the second, scored the go-ahead in the seventh, and singled in the 10th which would’ve drove home another if the Royals weren’t trailing by two and playing it safe. Suddenly, Caglianone has a .275 batting average and .802 OPS on the season and is hitting .360 over his last 15 games.

Dodgers’ skipper Dave Roberts told reporters on Thursday that right-hander Edwin Díaz (elbow) threw 28 pitches during a successful bullpen session.

Roberts also noted that the Dodgers’ closer looked “really good” during the session. He remains on track to rejoin the club’s bullpen after the All-Star break, which would shift Tanner Scott back into a setup role.
