Jackson Holliday went 2-for-3 with three RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base as the Orioles defeated the Tigers 10-9 in 12 innings on Wednesday.
Holliday ended up with three at-bats despite not starting against Tarik Skubal. He still made his presence felt to continue a hot start to the second half. Holliday has meaningfully lowered his strikeout rate in July, which is notable considering he’s still just 22 years old and got a late start to the season. A high BABIP is partially fueling his heater, and he’s a long way from stardom, but the growth is encouraging.
