Tigers activate Jackson Jobe off of 60-day IL

Jobe gave up one hit, walked one and struck out four. You couldn’t have asked for a better outing in his first start since May of last year after recovering from Tommy John surgery. Jobe had never touched 100 mph before in the major leagues, but reached that mark on his first inning strikeout of Bryce Eldridge. In the second inning, he struck out Rafael Devers on three pitches, the last of which being a wipeout changeup. Jobe threw 71 pitches and will continue to be on a pitch count for at least his next few starts. That might hinder his ability to work deep into games right now, but Jobe certainly showed enough to be worth grabbing in mixed leagues. He’s lined up to face the White Sox next weekend.

Jobe will draw into Detroit’s new-look rotation following the departures of Tarik Skubal and Casey Mize at the trade deadline when they kick off a three-game series in San Francisco later this week.
